Continue the holiday celebration at Historic Stranahan House Museum’s Holiday Hangover party on Thursday, Jan. 9 at Historic Stranahan House Museum, 5:30–8 p.m. Indulge in delightful treats from some of South Florida’s revered restaurants and caterers, an open bar, entertainment, and House tours. $50 per person. Tickets include event entry, plus a chance to win a 25-person wine and cheese party at the Historic Stranahan House Museum.
Through Sunday, Jan. 12, take in some amazing artwork at “Patchwork Mosaic: An Indigenous Gathering of Seminole Masterworks,” an exhibition on display at History Fort Lauderdale. In its second year as an Art Basel-sanctioned event venue, History Fort Lauderdale offers a reflection of contemporary and traditional Seminole and Miccosukee Tribal Native American multi-media art and presentations. Open daily, noon–4:00pm weekdays and 9:30am–4:00pm weekends. Free with museum admission.
Emulating a traditional open-air bazaar, Rob Pruitt’s Flea Market at NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, Jan. 18 from 11 a.m.–5 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 19 from noon–5 p.m. presents a unique opportunity. Meet artists and take home in an original artwork. Presenting a wide range of goods from artwork to housewares, the event encourages bartering and haggling. Free entry.
Enjoy the delightful sounds of the Michael Masci Quartet with Danny Bacher at the Thursday, Jan. 23 Concert Under the Stars at Bonnet House Museum & Gardens. Starting at 6:30 p.m., the event is presented by The Haller Foundation. This live performance on the beautiful tent-covered veranda at the beautiful Bonnet House estate includes complimentary wine and cheese. Starting at $45 per person.
It’s a contemporary Rat Pack, merged with world-class tap dancing! On Friday, Jan. 31 at 7:30 p.m., The Tap Pack will take the stage at Parker Playhouse. This elegant and entertaining nod to the Rat Pack era features energetic performances of tap dancing, smooth vocals, a live jazz band and clever on-stage banter. $37.50–$57.50 per ticket.
Living one day over and over may not be a good idea for you, but Slow Burn Theatre Co’s “Groundhog Day The Musical” is a fun-filled adventure! Playing Friday, Jan. 31–Sunday, Feb. 16 at Broward Center for the Performing Arts during matinee and evening performances, the production is inspired by the film “Groundhog Day” with Bill Murray. $49–$65 per ticket.
