Guitar virtuoso Mak Grgić opens the concert, followed by Lang, who performs songs from “Ingénue” in its entirety, along with hits from her 2004 album “Hymns of the 49th Parallel.” $39–$75 per ticket.
There’s so much to learn about the tools one can use for birding, and Bonnet House Museum & Gardens is pleased to present “Ascend to Better Birding, Part I: The Tools of the Trade.” Taking place on Sunday, Sept. 9 from 2–5 p.m., the workshop will provide great information about how to better use binoculars, a bird checklist and bird field guide book. $20–$25 per person.
On Tuesday, Sept. 18 from noon-1:30 p.m., Honduran-born artist Emilio Martinez will discuss his perspective on migration and the psychological, economic and spiritual effects it has on those who pursue it. Guests can join Martinez at NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale’s Hispanic Heritage Month Event, Art Roundtable: Emilio Martinez. $10 per person.
On Saturday, Sept. 22, 800 museums across the U.S. will participate in Smithsonian Museum Day Live! 2018, and Fort Lauderdale History Museum is one of them! From 9:30 a.m.–4 p.m., guests can enjoy free admission for two people, after they register for tickets at Smithsonian’s website.
