Considered one of George Balanchine’s signature works, Concerto Barocco is set to Bach’s glorious Double Violin Concerto in D minor. Leading contemporary choreographer Nacho Duato’s Jardi Tancat, based on Catalan folk songs, is lyrical, soulful and profoundly Spanish. Created for Miami City Ballet by visionary choreographer Alexei Ratmansky, the dramatic, fast-paced Symphonic Dances – set to Sergei Rachmaninoff’s powerful score – is back by popular demand. JUST ADDED: Following the sold-out, one-night-only April 2013 world premiere with New World Symphony, Chutes and Ladders — by up-and-coming choreographer Justin Peck – makes its mainstage debut as an apt addition to this musically-driven program. Concerto Barocco (Balanchine/Bach); Jardí Tancat (Duato/del Mar Bonet) Company Premiere; Chutes and Ladders (Peck/Britten) Mainstage Premiere; Symphonic Dances (Ratmansky/Rachmaninoff).

Matinee and Evening Performances.
