Twenty-eight-year-old Alana, escaped human trafficking survivor, finds herself in a new city, new career, and ultimately a new life. She has just been hired as a new lawyer at a prestigious law firm, but her first high-profile case surrounding a known politician’s daughter forces her into the public view. This presents a problem, since Alana and her 21-year-old friend and graduate student, Natalia, have been in hiding for 10 years. Any exposure at this time will cause them both to come face-to-face with the past they desperately tried to leave behind. Knowing this, Alana hesitantly accepts the case, only to discover the politician’s daughter and she shared the same horrible path and possibly the same trafficker, who still remains at large. Alana’s and Natalia’s worlds collide when Alana uncovers their traffickers are now in their new city. She eventually discovers they are closer than she expected. It is fight or flight for Alana.
