Free Lecture: 'Fort Lauderdale’s Mid-Century Modern Architecture' by Merrilyn Rathbun

Interested in modern architecture? Join featured speaker Merrilyn Rathbun, who will present a short illustrated history of Fort Lauderdale’s signature post-WWII modern architecture. Included will be an introduction to the architects and developers that made the mid-century boom happen. After moving to Fort Lauderdale in 1968, Rathbun studied printmaking independently at FAU in Boca Raton. After volunteering and holding various positions with the Fort Lauderdale Historical Society, in 2002, she became director of research services for the Fort Lauderdale Historical Society and took over management of the Society’s contract with the City of Fort Lauderdale Historic Preservation Board, where she holds the position to this day.
