“Georgia O’Keeffe and Her Artist Sisters: Issues of Identity”

March 28 @ 3:30 pm   |
NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale
| Free- $10

Dr. Barbara Buhler-Lynes is the museum’s “Sunny Kaufman” senior curator. She is the preeminent scholar on the life and work of Georgia O’Keeffe and was formerly the founding curator of the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe, New Mexico; and the founding director of its research center. She is the author of numerous books on the artist and her contemporaries, including “Georgia O’Keeffe: Catalogue Raisonné.” In her lecture, Dr. Buhler-Lynes will discuss Georgia O’Keeffe’s request of her artists’ sisters to abandon their burgeoning careers, and O’Keeffe and her husband’s (photographer Alfred Stieglitz) motivation behind the demand.
