Destination Fridays – Argentina will embrace the beauty and passion of the tango on Friday, March 6, 2015 from 6:30 to 9:30PM at the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center (AARLCC), located at 2650 Sistrunk Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311, 954-357-6210. Network, meet new friends and enjoy dance, music, food and wine from Argentina at this fun, festive event at one of Broward County’s most beautiful libraries.
An evening highlight will be an invitation to tango on the AARLCC stage, with different couples dancing at the same time, a practice that Argentinians call “Milonga.” During the dancing there will be an announcer explaining tango culture, music and styles. Armando Orzuza and Nuria Martinez will also showcase their sizzling moves and offer tango lessons to anyone who wants to learn this exciting, romantic dance form.
There will be an opportunity for wine tasting and instruction, with sangria featured as the signature drink. Refreshments will be provided while supplies last. In the library gallery, the paintings of Alicia Teramo will be featured. Jazzy music will play throughout the lobby and guests are encouraged to dress elegantly for the occasion.
