The joy of the holiday season is flowing through The District this December! From an all-male singing string quartet to holiday boat tours down the New River, The District partners are presenting jolly cultural activities and events for visitors and locals alike to enjoy.
Enter for a chance to win two passes to “Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical,” playing at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Tuesday, Dec. 15–Sunday, Dec. 27, matinee and evening performances. Just answer the trivia question on The District’s Facebook page. The winner will be randomly chosen from those submitting correct answers, and contacted privately through Facebook messenger by Dec. 14.
On Dec. 8 at 11 a.m., Bonnet House Museum & Gardens presents its Orchid Greenhouse Tour, inviting guests to view and learn about these wondrous flowers. Offered the second Tuesday of each month from 11 a.m. to noon for $20 per person, the tour is led by the Bonnet House orchid curator. Limited reservations available; pre-registration is required.
On Dec. 18, 7:30 p.m. at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, celebrate the holidays in style with Well-Strung, a hunky and talented all-male singing string quartet that is taking the musical world by storm with its signature pop-classical mashups. Tickets start at $35.
A time-honored tradition in The District is Historic Stranahan House Museum’s Holiday River Tours. Taking place Dec. 18 and Dec. 20–23, the event will feature an evening tour of Historic Stranahan House, shining with Victorian Christmas décor as well as costumed docents, live music and photo opportunities, and a boat ride down the New River. Reservations required. $30 per person.
During Fort Lauderdale Historical Society’s Winter Solstice and Holiday Lights Boat Tour down the New River on Dec. 21 from 6–8 p.m., guests will learn about the fascinating history of early settlers and view the lights of beautifully decorated homes along the Intracoastal Waterway. Cocktails and light fare will be served onboard. Reservations required. $20 for members / $35 for non-members.
