The holidays are over, but Riverwalk Arts & Entertainment District is continuing to celebrate with bountiful cultural giveaways during its January 16-20 “Cultural Cheer Trivia Week” Contest on Facebook. Why give in to post-holiday and winter blues when you could possibly win a wonderful cultural experience in sun-soaked Fort Lauderdale? Simply answer a trivia question about a Riverwalk A&E District partner for a chance to win.
From January 16 through January 20, just log on to Riverwalk A&E District’s “Cultural Cheer Trivia Week” Contest Facebook page at www.facebook.com/RiverwalkAE to check out the trivia question of the day. Each day, a different question will be posed about a Riverwalk A&E District partner (Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Museum of Art | Fort Lauderdale, Florida Grand Opera, Fort Lauderdale History Center and Historic Stranahan House Museum). If you answer correctly, your name will be entered in a random drawing to win that day’s spectacular cultural outing prize. In addition, winners will receive a unique Riverwalk A&E District tote bag, hand-made from banners which previously “danced in the wind” above the District.
- The winner of the Monday, January 16 contest will take a step back in time with a family four-pack admission to the Fort Lauderdale History Center, and a historic black and white photograph of Old Fort Lauderdale.
- On Tuesday, January 17, the trivia contest winner’s prize will be a family four-pack admission to Offering of the Angels: Old Master Paintings and Tapestries from the Uffizi Gallery, on view at Museum of Art | Fort Lauderdale. The famed exhibition features tapestries and paintings by some of the greatest artists of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Also included in the prize package is the fully-illustrated 167-page special exhibition catalog.
- The winner of the Wednesday, January 18 contest will receive two tickets to a performance of Jersey Boys, the 2006 Tony® Award-winning Best Musical about Rock and Roll Hall of Famers The Four Seasons, playing at Broward Center for the Performing Arts through January 29, 2012. The prize package also includes two drink tickets for the Broward Center.
- The Thursday, January 19 winner will be awarded four tickets to the Stranahan House Ghost Tour, an hour-long adventure which includes a visit inside the Historic Stranahan House Museum and a “ghostly” boat ride on the New River. In addition, the winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to shop in the Historic Stranahan House Museum’s gift shop.
- To finish out the trivia contest on a high note, the winner of the Friday, Jan. 20 contest will enjoy two tickets to Florida Grand Opera’s Romeo and Juliet on Saturday, May 12, plus two drink tickets.
The celebration lasts all year long at Riverwalk A&E District – why not test your cultural knowledge and join in the fun?
