Demons, Beasts, Gods and Ghosts at Museum of Art | Fort Lauderdale

Organized to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Studio Glass Movement, Primordial:  Paintings and Sculptures by Isabel De Obaldía, 1985 – 2011 features demons, beasts, gods, and ghosts in a mid-career retrospective of the work of Panamanian-based artist Isabel De Obaldía, opening at the Museum of Art, Fort Lauderdale, Saturday, September 24 through May 27, 2012.

New Expanded Curriculum at AutoNation Academy of Art and Design at Museum of Art | Fort Lauderdale

AutoNation Academy of Art and Design (formerly the Studio School) at the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale, announces open registration now through September 14 for adults as well as for students in grades 1 through 12. Curriculum-based studio art classes begin the week of September 19 and meet for a 3-hour class once per week during the 10-week session. Applicants can choose from a broad selection of classes in drawing, painting, printmaking, digital photography, graphic design, watercolor, illustration, screen printing, lithography, ceramics, sculpture, and other disciplines.

The Museum of Art | Fort Lauderdale Nova Southeastern University celebrates the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Studio Glass Movement with the remarkably distinguished work of Panamanian-based artist Isabel De Obaldia. The exhibition opens Saturday, September 24 and continues through May 27, 2012.

Mr. Silvin will be speaking on An Insider’s view of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. Florida Grand Opera Announces 2011-2012 Season: Two Important Company ‘Firsts’

MIAMI – July 27, 2011 – Florida Grand Opera announces the productions for the 2011-2012 season – the company’s 71st consecutive year of grand opera in South Florida – which includes two important company “firsts”: the first presentation of a zarzuela, Torroba’s “Luisa Fernanda,” and the first production of Puccini’s “La rondine.” The season will also include Verdi’s “Rigoletto” and Gounod’s “Roméo et Juliette.” To download season photos, please visit our Flickr account at www.flickr.com/photos/fgopera.
