From Crepes to Quadracyles, New Food & Fitness at Riverwalk Starting Jan. 5!

Published on Jan 27, 2015 by Riverwalk Arts Entertainment District

The year 2015 is already getting off to a fantastic start at Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale, located along the north and south sides of Fort Lauderdale’s New River, and home to The District’s cultural partners. On Monday, Jan. 5, the Riverwalk is pleased to officially unveil its new food kiosks (The Wholly Crepe, Nacho Bizness and Expresso) and Riverwalk Recreation, including exciting new fitness offerings (yoga and cardio classes, dog training classes, kayak and paddleboard rentals; and bicycle, Segway and quadracyle tours.)

These new culinary and recreation additions are part of the Riverwalk’s effort to attract even more visitors and continue to offer more for the growing downtown residential population. They’ll be located on the scenic 2 ½- mile Riverwalk Linear Park, which links the downtown area’s culture, entertainment, historic district and business. The Sun Trolley and Water Trolley are fun ways to navigate around the Riverwalk.

Already open to the public, The District partner Broward Center for the Performing Arts’ Marti’s New River Bistro, offering inspired new takes on traditional favorites, is a great place to enjoy Saturday or Sunday brunch from 10 a.m.–2 p.m., as well as other delectable meals.

The Museum Café at The District partner NSU Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale offers a wonderful option for lunch Tuesday–Saturday, 11 a.m.–2:30 p.m., with delicious sandwiches, melts, soups, desserts, coffee, wines and beers.

The ribbon cutting for the food kiosks will take place at 4 p.m. on Jan. 5 at Bubier Park, and the Riverwalk Recreation ribbon cutting will follow at Suite 111 on the Riverwalk.

So whether you visit the Riverwalk for some amazing culture, scrumptious cuisine or a Segway tour, you’re certain to create not only a fun-filled day, but also long-lasting memories.
