Imagine a beautiful fall day, enjoying all the Riverwalk Arts & Entertainment District has to offer. Actually, you don’t have to imagine! We at The District have prepared a delightful itinerary of what you could do during your “perfect November day,” exploring the limitless cultural opportunities available in the area.
You can kick off your day with a delicious, farm-fresh breakfast at the O-B (Old Breakfast) House in Fort Lauderdale, then take a short stroll to the Fort Lauderdale Historical Society and sign up for one of its many tours on foot, bicycle, water or Segway. After your tour, walk just a few more minutes and you’ll arrive at the NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale, where you can explore the Museum’s amazing exhibits, featuring collections and artists from around the world.
When you’re ready for lunch, there are many fantastic restaurants on Las Olas from which to choose, including the Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery (across from the Museum on Andrews Avenue), Royal Pig Pub & Kitchen (350 East Las Olas Boulevard), or YOLO (333 East Las Olas Boulevard).
After lunch, walk a couple of blocks east on Las Olas to the Historic Stranahan House Museum, where you can catch the 3 p.m. docent-led tour of this charming and historic home, and then perhaps check out the gift shop. Later, explore scenic Las Olas Boulevard, home to endless boutiques and specialty shops.
In the evening, hop on a Water Trolley for free and cruise up the New River to get off at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. Most nights during season, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts offers something special, from award-winning Broadway shows, headlining concerts, classical performances and international dance troupes. Just step up to the Box Office and buy your tickets! The Broward Center also features culinary theater experiences, which include the Intermezzo Lounge and the Lan & Tam Airlines Club Level, each offering VIP areas with food, bars and a host of other amenities.
What a delightful November day in The District!
