Canvas to Life – Living Art of Jonathan Green with Jubilee Dance Theater

The internationally renowned artistry of Jonathan Green comes to life on stage in a multi-media performance of visual art, dance, poetry, music and pageantry. This bright and bold performing canvas is deeply rooted in the Gullah heritage of South Carolina’s low country coast. Mr. Green has created more than 2,000 works of art, capturing the essences and history of the southern experience. These paintings tell the story of family and community, personal identity and expression, love race and culture-with its often turbulent history of immigration, slavery, war, prejudices, and acceptances. The vibrant colors of Jonathan Green mixed with the innovative and unique choreographic works of Luctricia Welters and the Jubilee Dance Theatre provide an evening of entertainment from the canvas to the stage. An exhilarating testament to the multi-cultural reality of the South and all that is truly American life.
